Destination #5: Wanaka (Day One)

After our road block on the way to Milford Sound, and our pit stop in Queenstown, Jacob and I made our way to Wanaka, our next scheduled destination. Jacob's folks have time shares, and offered us a week in one of the condo resorts as part of our wedding gift. It was kinda great to sleep in a real bed, sit on a real couch and have some room to spread out and roam around!

We didn't spend too much time actually IN Wanaka though. It acted more as a home base for us while we explored and took day trips out to nearby places.

Our first full day in the village was spent relaxing in our condo, walking into the township along the lakeside, and sitting in the hot tub in the evening (where we met an Australian couple on their honeymoon! The husband also knew a LOT about Portland... it was kind of odd! lol).

The hot tub, pool, and water slide. It was too cold for us for the water slide, but we enjoyed the hot tub!

It was so nice to sleep in a real bed after a week on wheels! lol

Our kitchen. I couldn't get enough of the weird little drawer-dishwasher. Never seen one of those before.

He couldn't wait too long before turning on the tv. =)
